Day 3.114: Good weather for...fish?
It was certainly good weather for photographing fish at 7am. The low sun was shining through the dining room window and turning our little fish tank into a beautiful place.
Although for the most part today was like the last few days, sunny, dry and in the 70's. At about 2.30pm, I received a weather warning. Back on February 26th I last received a winter weather advisory, since then we have had a lot of freeze warnings for overnight frosts after the growing season has started. Today's was the first summer storm warning of the year - they don't actually call it that, they call it a severe thunderstorm warning. It arrived on cue and was incredibly violent - we watched it approach - a line of clouds followed by a wall of rain. Just before it got to us we saw the trees on the far side of the car-park start to violently shake around. Then the wind hit. I can only imagine what it would have been like to be outside. For a minute or so, it seemed possible that anything could get blown away and then the wind calmed down and the rain and hail started. Twenty minutes later it was all over.
And so, the summer excitement begins.
