Day 5.001: Pop a cork!

Yes - it's time to celebrate the beginning of a new year. It's five years ago today that we woke up for the first time as residents of the USA and spent our first day working out how to live here.  We seem to be managing it.

However, there was no time for champagne or any other alcoholic beverages today as I rushed home from work just in time to have a quick plate of dinner and then rush straight out again with Exile #3 to the school science night.  Exile #2 took Exile #4 to hers yesterday and this year there were no snow delays like the ones that repeatedly delayed this event last year.

We had a nice evening.  Here she is investigating the effects of air pressure using cups with and without a small hole and a cork floating in a bowl of water.
