So, how do you beat a frozen river - how about a frozen waterfall? The freeze actually lost its grip here today, the maximum crept over the magic 32 °F. However, it takes some time to build up ice like this and I'm sure it will take some time to melt too. Not much chance of that with snow forecast for tomorrow and then temperatures dropping back into the realm where the local weather forecast calls it 'Cold!'
Today, three of my colleagues, one five-year-old and myself went to a basketball game. The home side, Siena College, were 12 points up at half-time and looked set to walk it. Someone must have had a word - "There's three guys up there here for their first game" so they tried their best to win us over. With 30 seconds to go, the away team went one point ahead and Siena took the victory with 0.5 seconds left on the clock. It doesn't get much tighter than that.
That's pop pun number 1 for the title-watchers.
