As well as our more active pursuits, most days in the last week have involved making models from this year's new construction toy: WEDGiTS. E5N1 loves them - and has been building more and more interesting designs each day. From time to time he asks me to help him make one of the 'advanced designs'. Some of these are quite difficult - involving the eponymous wedging of pieces together (which is capable of making astonishingly gravity-defying arrangements) and a fair deal of lateral thinking as all they provide are the list of required parts and a single photo of the finished piece.
The tower pictured below was the hardest yet - you can't really tell, but this is three large wedged arrangements (two of them identical) balanced on each another. I started building this one with Exile #3, but I didn't get it finished until after she had gone to bed with help from Exile #2.
All in all, it's been a great week off. Tomorrow is back to work and school - normality may take another week or so to achieve I suspect.
Hi there,
ReplyDeleteThis might make more sense here!
Happy New Year to you all. J always takes a shine to these in the local toy shop: shame they seem to cost a fortune over here!
