Day 1.209: Egg(plant)-shaped

When we were in the UK, we had a favourite aubergine recipe (slices + salt, pepper, cayenne and turmeric) fried until golden brown. Here aubergine is hard to find, but eggplant makes a good substitute! Not that this looks anything like an egg, or much like an aubergine for that matter - it came in our CSA share today and is now in us (with salt, pepper, cayenne and turmeric!). Very nice it was too.

We watched the results show of So You Think You Can Dance and smiled ruefully for each of the non-winners as they were told that they were not 'America's favorite dancer' - we were happy for Courtney to be in the final and hoping for a Katee victory, but Joshua was a well-deserved winner and Twitch is a complete star, so we had a good evening.

It's pop pun 69 for title watchers: you'll knock on my door and up we'll go. I don't think so, but what do I know?

  1. Your aubergine seems to be one called 'Brilliant'. I have an excellent similar picture in my greenhouse book.
