Day 1.215: You know where we've been!

After the hot sticky scenes for our last few baseball games, this one was nearly a wash-out. The rain delay sent many people home, most others scurrying off to find somewhere to shelter, but not us - we resolutely stayed in our seats (and therefore kept them mostly dry).

E5N1 was the only one whose enthusiasm was not at all dampened.

By the time the rain ended there was hardly anyone else left in our block of seats.

There were compensations however - the give-aways after play resumed had fewer takers and we managed to snag a frisbee (it's also a voucher for an oil change discount!) and a nice man, having given Exile #4 and her cousin small cow-bells to ring (or calf-bells as he called them) then caught a beach-ball and donated it.

When at 10pm we decided it was time to leave he unexpectedly said the kids could keep the bells too. So all left happy. The fireworks were cancelled because the combination of rain-delays and the noise curfew meant that the game would finish too late - it's still listed as 'in progress' on their website. It's 11.45 pm. I think it's just as well we didn't stay to the end.

It's a soggy pop pun 71 for title watchers: (not) like the desert sun that burns my skin.
