A couple of days ago, we visited a barbecue restaurant. It was the kind of Korean restaurant where you cook small pieces of meat yourself in a hot plate set into the table. Here we are enjoying pork and smoked duck (we had huge amounts of the duck - it was very good!)
At the end of the meal, while the last of the duck (and some sliced garlic) was still cooking, a big bowl of kimchee (spiced pickled cabbage) and spiced bean sprouts were added to the hot plate:
This turned into a kind of stir-fry, which when eaten together was a completely different taste sensation than anything I'd eaten in Korea before.
