Day 57: Why Wide?

For the last week or so I've been remembering how wide the roads seemed when we first arrived. The large not quite hard shoulders seemed like totally wasted space except where used by cars to squeeze through at traffic lights to turn right at red lights. However, for a few weeks from mid-February, the roads haven't seemed overly wide at all because all these road margins have been taken up with piles of snow. Now these piles are receding and in some places have disappeared. Our garden still has 6-8 inches where it has been untouched and the 'mountain' and snowman are still standing tall.

Of course the other reason for the wide roads is pictured - wide vehicles. This one had my second favourite bumper sticker of the week on it Need a hobby? Fly pigeons. The favourite was spotted on the way to the church meeting last night - Dog is my co-pilot.

Exile #3 had to dress up as a character from a book for school today after a bit of re-direction she eventually chose to go as Tutu Tilly and seemed to have a good time. The corridors at drop-off time were full of wizards, amongst the older kids Harry Potter reigns supreme.

I am feeling extremely virtuous and pleasantly physically tired this evening following an active evening of constructing a CD storage unit and then going for a swim. But if I run out of things to occupy myself, there are always those pigeons.
