Day 3.336: Piano recital

This afternoon Exile #4 (aged 6) took part in her first piano recital. It was a slightly chaotic afternoon for us as Exile #3 was at a tea party which was due to end at about the same time Exile #4 was performing and it was time for our church gathering too (we all missed that in the end). It worked out - Exile #2, E5N1 and I watched her perform and then I stayed for the rest of the recital while Exile #2 went to collect Exile #4.

She did a great job.  You can see her first piece below and the second one is on YouTube here.    The rest of the recital was eclectic to say the least, starting with the Imperial March from Star Wars (you know the Darth Vader theme) and ending with Greensleeves and The Battle Hymn of the Republic (not the Star Wars one this time!) but in between featured the teacher singing Let It Be and even a rendition of Werewolves of London featuring keyboards, drums, bass and two electric guitars.  It wasn't quite like the recitals I took part in when I was taking piano lessons.

Here she is singing and playing about the rain (which has been exercising its 'tiny voices' pretty much all day here as predicted).
