Day 3.335: Low tide in Albany
With what looks like a disappointingly mild and rainy winter storm coming in tomorrow, we thought that spending some time outside should be a priority today. Ignoring E5N1's, "Five Rivers is a nice place where we can have a walk!" we decided to investigate the Hudson again - this time on Albany side of the river.
Although there was a fair amount of ice floating downstream (mostly on the far side), it was the ice on the banks that really caught the eye - providing a graphic indication of the tidal variation in the river level here some 150 miles from the sea (by the route the river takes).
