Day 3.265: Falls over

We had a great day out - which took us a lot further afield, but started with a return to Cohoes Falls. The weather had cheered up considerably since my visit there yesterday - almost entirely clear blue skies. That didn't stop us getting wet or seeing a rainbow (or should that be spraybow?) thanks to the amazing amount of mist coming from the falls.

Today was the first time those Niagara comparisons made sense. I could really see that these falls can be powerful and spectacular like their more famous cousins further west. To what extent the power station is to blame for the rather less impressive day-to-day showing they put in I do not know, but I'm sure that if the park was open during the spring melt, there would be more days like this.

Again, there were lots of visitors, the parking lot was full and with a great view and great weather (and a free park) it seemed like everyone was getting their money's worth.

These pictures are here, yesterday's gloomier set are here.
