Day 3.236: Sweet sixteen at the drive-in

Even though our wedding anniversary celebration included dinner, dancing, a movie and a late night, it was not exactly traditional!

We spent the evening with the whole family at the Drive-In. The Jericho Drive-In Theatre to be exact.  We attended the Labor Day weekend triple-bill, but only stayed for the first movie - Toy Story 3.  After which we had ice-cream in the dark and then the girls danced by the light of Julia Roberts.

The whole experience was fairly wonderful.  We really had no idea what we were doing (our only reference being Grease), but our 'neighbors' were very helpful, giving us some top-tips and ideas for next time but mostly just reassuring us that what were doing was OK.  As the last light was fading, they played a short old-school cartoon called "Day and Night" and the main feature seemed to strike a chord with each member of the family - albeit several different ones!

All in all a great way to spend our sixteenth wedding anniversary - we'll go out for dinner another time!
