As you can see, we had a frost as predicted (the roof isn't usually that colour), but Spring is definitely still in the air. If you look closely you can also see that it is getting harder to see the gap in the lawn where our little tree used to be.
After work, we went to school for their last big show-and-tell of students work for the year - there was a slide-show showing Exile #4 and her classmates growing up an astonishing amount since last September and Exile #3 had lots of things to show us and the whole class performed a play they had written about the birds they have been studying. We would normally have liked to look around some more - especially to see what the always-having-lots-of-fun 2nd and 3rd Grades have been up to, but E5N1 has been in a shouty mood all day and tiredness was not dissuading him.
This evening the latest local organisation was predicting economic down-turn on the local TV news. The presenter turned to his guest and said, "How funny that this news should come on May Day." There was an uncomfortable and clearly non-plussed nod from his guest before he (in a lets-move-on sort of way) muttered something about fighter pilots and crashing...m'aider!
