Day 1.113: Water, wings

We managed a family trip to the swimming pool for the first time in more than six months today. E5N1 had his first pool experience and did quite well even though he was probably already working on a fever - measured at tea-time at 103 °F. The girls wore the floatation device of choice (a set of floats attached onto their backs with a band around the waist) and had a fantastic time.

The rest of the day has been quite quiet and it has been a grey sort of Spring day with a few rain showers. Our yard including the re-stocked bird feeder is now attracting a few species we've previously only seen away from home (Eastern Phoebes and White-throated Sparrows). During our Easter Summer I put the hummingbird feeder up, but with the weather as it is at the moment I suspect they may stay in the summer homes for a bit longer.

These geese looked like they were trying to get into our office a couple of weeks ago, but without picture ID, the best they could hope for was to tail-waddle in behind someone. They didn't manage as far as I know.
