Day 356: New Year? you can't be serious
To all my Gregorian Calendar following readers: Happy New Year!. Here we are amongst college friends and their families. We are enormously grateful to J (& A) for organising various get-togethers and then allowing us to just turn up and see lots of friends. It has been great.
Well, I say great, obviously we're very British about these things. Seeing old friends is a serious business. Unless you tickle us with your mouse pointer that is.
Here at Exiles in New York there are 10 days to go to the New Year so expect more joyous celebrations then (probably).
In between visits with friends, we went to our house here today. Having decided not to bother our tenants with an actual visit, it was just a drive-by. All seems well. As we approached it we started asking Exile #3 if she remembered various things. She said no. As we approached the house she said "I know it's red". OK that's a start. No actually - that's it. She claimed no recollection of which house it was or recognition of it when it was pointed out. Considering she had lived in it for all her life until 356 days ago I was quite surprised.
I should, of course, have been relieved - driving away with her complete indifference ringing in our ears was much better than some of the alternatives.
