Day 235: In a state

The Exile is on the road again. This time we've crossed a state line. The hummingbirds are due to leave any day now and the place where we saw this one is keeping a close eye to see when exactly they leave, when they do they will most likely fly all the way to Central America. It's an amazing feat considering their tiny size and flying style that would seem more aerobatic than long-haul.

We had a nice walk nearby too including some amazing evidence of the hard work of local beavers, although we didn't see any. The weather has been just about perfect - high 70's , low humidity and clear blue skies.

Our hotel room is very nice and includes wireless internet, hence the superior away-from-home service today. Exile #3 and Exile #4 are sharing a bed and soon after getting in were sounding like an old married couple arguing (good naturedly) about stealing the covers and making too much noise. In fact the real problem right now is E5N1 who is shouting again, soon after disrupting our dinner at an Italian Restaurant down the road.

It sounds like he's settling down now, so I'll sign-off and hope that we can all get some sleep soon.

  1. Did the state police chase you to the border like on Dukes of Hazzard? Were your library books out of date or something?
