The girls spent most of New Year's Day at a play-date with school friends at their house - and, for an hour or so, E5N1 was left there too - allowing me to get on with some planning for Sunday at home and Exile #2 to go shopping unencumbered by children.
This evening was the first Rock Band Night of 2010 and it was a marathon session, we started early but finished late, clocking up something like seven hours in the process.
At May Balls in Oxford, there is a tradition of the "survivors photo" usually taken at about 6 am of whoever has managed to party through the night until dawn. Here is our equivalent - in fact, the only ones not to make it to the end of the night (nt dawn though!) were our kids - E5N1 fell asleep on one of the sofas in the room where we were playing and the girls were persuaded into bed with a chapter of Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.
A pretty good day to start 2010. May I wish a Happy New Year to all the readers who have yet to switch over to celebrating the New Year with us on January 10th.
