Well, after yesterday's post we could hardly resist getting a shot of these signs (thanks to Exile #2 for the camera-work).
We spent most of the day driving - stopping only for a service-area breakfast (joined by a Quebecois Ice-hockey team and their friends and family) and an alfresco lunch with a view of a rapidly-thawing downhill ski-resort in the Poconos.
We drove through Pennsylvania and Maryland before arriving in Virginia, just across the river from Washington D.C..
When we had settled into our room, we went by foot to a local supermarket - Safeway surprisingly to UK readers - saw some definite signs of spring closer-up than had been possible on the highway
and saw an interesting art-work.
Now, the kids are in bed and with 420 miles under my belt - I think it's time to go that way myself!
